Opened in May 2025 after a 20-month build-out, the Whole Foods Market retail center is a key addition to Downtown Summerlin®, a development by Howard Hughes. Occupying 7.4 acres at the prominent southeast corner of Sahara Avenue and Town Center Drive, the center serves as a gateway to the award-winning urban destination, which attracts over 20 million visitors annually.

The project is anchored by a 46,500-square-foot Whole Foods Market and a 3,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Starbucks with a drive-through. Five additional retail and restaurant tenants—totaling more than 17,000 square feet—include Optic Gallery, The Great Greek, and first-to-market brand Skin Laundry, along with two others currently in negotiation. The strong daily demand, as evidenced by the consistently full parking lot, highlights the center’s popularity and commercial success.

The tenant mix is curated to align with the demographics of the Summerlin® master-planned community, home to some of the region’s highest education levels, incomes, and housing values. This reflects a continued emphasis on quality and lifestyle for both residents and visitors.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the center was built to achieve LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. It emphasizes walkability and offers pedestrian access from nearby luxury apartment communities such as Tanager, Tanager Echo, and Constellation. Electric vehicle charging stations further enhance the project’s environmentally conscious design.

Architecturally, the retail center draws inspiration from Howard Hughes’ aviation legacy, with a layout loosely shaped like an airplane wing. Public art is a cornerstone of Downtown Summerlin, and this project continues that tradition with *Sun Kissed*—a 33-foot-tall sculpture by Southern Nevada artist Robert Spencer Davidson. Positioned beneath a sidewalk canopy, the piece creates a striking visual landmark and is crafted from a durable composite designed to withstand the region’s extreme climate.
